Dr R Mittal (m)
MB BS 1990 (London) DCH DRCOG MRCGP
Dr Mittal qualified from St George’s Hospital, London University in 1990. As senior partner, he plays a significant role in managing the practice as well as providing clinical sessions. His areas of special interest include minor surgical procedures, Joint injections, acupuncture and dermatology. Dr Mittal sees patients Mondays – Wednesdays.
Dr A Bajwa (f)
Dr Bajwa studied medicine at the University of Bristol and completed her GP training in Buckinghamshire before returning to Reading where she grew up.
She has previously done hospital jobs in A+E, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, General Medicine and Surgery and enjoys all aspects of General Practice. Dr Bajwa works Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Dr S Kayani (m)
BM BCh MA Hons (Oxon) MRCGP MRCP
Dr Sam Kayani studied at Oxford University. He initially trained as a Hospital doctor before changing to General Practice, thus he holds both MRCGP and MRCP qualifications. He is a local doctor having been born here, went to Reading School and lived here all his life. He is a musician and staunch Reading FC fan.
Dr R Singh (f)
BSc (Hons), MBChB, MRCGP, DRCOG
Dr Singh graduated from Warwick Medical School in 2010 and completed her GP training in Reading. Having worked in various local practices during and after qualification, she joined Milman Road Health Centre in October 2016 and has not looked back! Dr Singh currently works from Tuesday to Thursday on a weekly basis when she is not off exploring the world as an avid traveller. During her working week she supports Dr Thava in supervising the Foundation Year 2 doctor and is also currently involved in the exciting new Clinical Research opportunities which are due to start at the practice in the near future – watch this space!
Dr B Thava (m)
BSc, MBBS, MRCGP
Dr Thava completed his medical training at the University of London in 2004 and then moved to the Oxford Deanery to complete his GP training. As part of this he has worked at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in various posts, including paediatrics, obstetrics and emergency medicine. This varied role has provided him with a unique perspective of both primary and secondary care as well as the diverse needs of the local population. He is the Foundation 2 Trainer for our practice.
Dr Thava is the Chair of the Reading Primary Care Alliance. He works at Milman Road on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Dr S Janjua (f)
Dr Janjua studied medicine at the University of London (UCL) and returned to her hometown of Reading to complete her GP training. As part of her training she worked in various departments in the Royal Berkshire Hospital including Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, A&E and General Medicine. She qualified as a GP in 2008, and has been a full-time GP in Reading ever since then, providing her with a good understanding of the complex health needs of the local population.
Dr R Bowers (f)
Dr Bowers graduated from Southampton in 2010 and completed her training in Oxford. She works Tuesday, Wednesday & Fridays.
Dr K Patel (f)
As well as a GP at Milman Road on Thursdays, Dr Patel is also the GP Locality Lead at South Reading CCG. She has worked in both the NHS and private sector and her background includes completing sessions in general practice, accident and emergency and out of hours. She has diplomas in obstetrics, gynaecology, family planning and ear nose and throat (ENT).
Kajal is interested in chronic disease management and ways to help patients with multiple conditions to manage their health in the community. She is committed to healthcare and realises that its rapid change means clinicians need to be ready to adapt to meet the altering needs of local people.
